why did it cross the road?

This is going to sound bad, but I like roadkill. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I eat it (just because I live in the south now...), I just like to look at it as I drive by. I find it interesting. Sure, I feel bad for it, but something about the carnage intrigues me.

I've seen all kinds of roadkill in my travels. I once ran over a bunny on my way to church one Easter (irony?), and I have a story about running over a deer carcass that would turn your stomach inside out. Incidentally, it did turn the deer inside out.

But 3 days ago, I saw roadkill that was new to me. It was a chicken. I'm sure in some places this could be quite ordinary, but where I saw this chicken, he could not have lived close by.

These experiences are good for my imagination. In my mind, either the chicken lept from a moving vehicle, trying to escape it's evil captors, or it was on some deep magical journey to discover itself and become a hero to chickens everywhere.

He was probably just dumb.

Anyway, since most of you are traveling this weekend, I hope this inspires you to look out the window and stimulate your imagination.

Don't forget to check out the video at the bottom of the page. It never gets old.
