Howdy.
It's Monday morning, and I am wiped out. This past weekend was fun and full of surprises.
- On Saturday morning, my son Jimmy got to play catcher for the first time at his baseball game. He was so nervous that he never once moved his glove. The baseballs just bounced right off him without him even flinching. Very funny to watch.
- We had 7 kids from Horizons get baptized on Saturday. I like baptizing kids because the little ones always kick their feet up into the air when they go under. Also very funny. I'm really proud of all those kids and the great testimonies they shared.
- I am from Detroit, and for us, the highlight of the football year is the draft. It's our Super Bowl. I'm excited about our picks, but I'm pretty sure the draft will be our highlight again next year.
- Oh, and while we're on a sports thing, the Pistons swept a team in the playoffs for the first time since 1990. There was much rejoicing in my recliner.
- We learned something new about our kitchen Saturday night. Apparently, if you touch the oven and the dishwasher at the same time, you get a current of electricity running through your body. It turns out that we need a new oven now. I am very thankful to my wife for being the first person to discover this, and also for being the one to try it again, just to be sure. She seems to be doing much better now.
- Sunday morning was awesome. We had a ton of kids at church, and despite the fact that they all must have had Mountain Dew and Pop Rocks for breakfast, Kids Church was great.
- Then I napped. All in all, it was a great weekend, and I can't wait to see what this week will bring.
I pray that your week is amazing and that God gives you a reason to say "wow!!"
Bye.
